Class Hankyul Law LLC

A judge for 34 years. Having served as Head of the Family Conciliation Division at the Seoul Family Court and Director of the Seoul Central District Court Mediation Center, he currently serves as a mediation commissioner at the Seoul Central District Court and the Intellectual Property Dispute Mediation Committee. He is leading the design of the Institute's training program for registered mediators.

Samhyun B&E

An adjunct professor of civil engineering at Chungnam National University with more than 30 years at Samsung C&T, DL E&C, and Samhyun B&E. He draws on construction-sector experience to advance mediation as a means of dispute resolution, and designated as a KCAB arbitrator.

Korean Committee for UNICEF

An attorney and former judge. While serving as a standing mediator at court (April 2009 – April 2015), she attempted statistical analyses of post-mediation dispute-resolution outcomes.

Korea Management Analysis Institute (Inc.)

A Certified Management Consultant who, after qualifying in 2002 and conducting 12 years of academic research engagements, has led the Korea Management Analysis Institute since 2014 — overseeing 25 years of research and cost-estimation work as a certified cost analyst and KCAB-registered arbitrator.

Standing Mediator, Seoul Central District Court / Arbitrator, KCAB / Arbitrator, Beijing Arbitration Commission and Beijing International Arbitration Center

Drawing on his leadership of in-house legal teams, he serves as Chair of the International Committee, helping the Institute establish itself on the international stage.

Chung-Ang University School of Law

Professor at Chung-Ang University School of Law. Three decades of teaching dispute resolution, civil procedure, and negotiation, with a focus on civil and commercial mediation and class actions. Certified mediator of the Singapore International Mediation Centre, part-time mediator of the Korea Medical Dispute Mediation and Arbitration Agency, and Director of the Chung-Ang AI & Law Center. Also serves on mediation panels for the Korea Creative Content Agency, the Personal Information Dispute Mediation Committee, the Seoul Central District Court, the Seoul Collective Building Dispute Mediation Committee, and the Yongin Architecture Dispute Mediation Committee.

The first and only dedicated mediation attorney at the high-court level nationwide, she led a twofold increase in mediation settlement outcomes and is now building a framework for swift resolution of high-value disputes.

Drawing on his service at the Korean Commercial Arbitration Board — Korea's only permanent arbitral institution — he seeks to contribute to the development of Korea's mediation regime.

Led 11 years of fund, finance, and international-dispute practice as General Counsel (Executive Director) at Macquarie Asset Management. An attorney, international arbitrator, and IMI-certified mediator. Also serves as a standing mediator at the Seoul Central District Court.

A practicing attorney engaged in civil and criminal dispute resolution and corporate legal advisory work, participating in the institutional take-up and outreach of mediation.

Sogang University Graduate School of Global Legal Studies / Wong and Chun Lawyers

Adjunct Professor of International Mediation and Negotiation at Sogang University Graduate School of Global Legal Studies. With 19 years of cross-border civil and commercial dispute practice in Korea and Hong Kong, she has diverse experience mediating in Korean and English as a certified mediator, and co-leads the Institute's international division.

Seoul Southern District Court

Korea's first dedicated mediation attorney at the district-court level, serving at Incheon District Court's Mediation Division for three years (Mar 2014 – Apr 2017). Subsequently served six years as Standing Mediation Commissioner and Head of the 9th Mediation Division at Seoul High Court and Seoul Central District Court (Apr 2017 – Apr 2023). Also worked in the Legal & Finance Team of the Defect Dispute Mediation Committee at the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport. Drawing on over a decade and more than 10,000 court mediation sessions, combined with administrative ADR experience, he leads the design of the Mediation Framework Act.

Jaeseong Law Office

A standing mediator at the Daejeon District Court for 14 years, handling tens of thousands of mediations. She has led the Institute's internal rulemaking, strengthening public trust in mediation.

ESR Kendall Square Inc.

As Head of Legal at ESR Korea she handles dispute prevention and resolution in real estate, infrastructure, and cross-border investment, and serves as a KCAB international arbitrator and SIMC mediator.

Covington & Burling LLP

A senior international-arbitration attorney at a U.S. law firm. Drawing on more than a decade of cross-border dispute practice (international arbitration, litigation, and mediation), she works to broaden the reach of Korean mediation practice and to deliver training.

Jeonju University

Associate Professor at Jeonju University Department of Law. A former research fellow at the Constitutional Court. Her research on civil dispute-resolution systems, access to justice, and procedural fairness informs her work on the Institute's draft Mediation Framework Act.
